Marketing leadership for developments people return to.

I help land developers and real estate teams build the brand into the community: through placemaking, partnerships that add revenue, and a story that investors, buyers, tenants and neighbors can all believe. Senior experience, scaled to your project, from first idea to a thriving place.

How I Help Developers

Place, partners and people.

01

Placemaking

I build the brand into the community: the amenities, signage, events and gathering places that make a development feel like somewhere.

02

Partnerships

I find and structure the strategic partnerships that add revenue or stretch the marketing budget, from sponsors and cause partners to agent and vendor programs.

03

People & Stakeholders

I connect with the people who will live in or visit the place, and with the investors, neighbors and press whose support a project depends on.

04

Marketing Leadership

Your marketing department, or the senior leader your team needs. With no team, I create the work myself. With one, I lead it and speak for marketing with architects, site managers and investors.

Who this is forLand developers and real estate teams, commercial, mixed-use and residential, and the growing companies around them. Startups and small businesses get a marketing department. Larger companies get a senior guide for the project that is bigger than the team.

Challenge

A 52-acre mixed-use village on a former dairy farm that fit no existing category: not a mall, not a strip center. It needed to become part of people’s daily lives.

Approach

Local depth over broad reach, signature traditions like the Fourth of July parade and tree lighting, and a Habitat for Humanity holiday partnership, with marketing as the liaison to architects, site managers and investors.

Result

An ICSC Maxi Award nomination, coverage from The Charlotte Observer to Chain Store Age, and traditions people still gather for.

The Thinking Behind the Work

Belonging is made, one touchpoint at a time.

Every interaction shapes perception, perception becomes memory, and memory becomes loyalty. That idea runs through every development I have marketed, and through my book, Every Touchpoint. About the book
