The Book
How the Smallest Moments Impact the People, Places & Brands We Love
We are woven by every touchpoint. Touchpoints become experiences. Experiences become memories. Memories become the threads from which identity is woven.

We live in an age that recognizes us everywhere and truly sees us almost nowhere. Presence — the feeling of being fully here, and of making another person feel the same — has become one of the rarest things we know.
For twenty-five years, Elizabeth Lord built the places and brands people love and return to — most famously turning a former dairy farm into Birkdale Village, a town square still drawing families two decades on. She learned that people rarely remember what happened. They remember how a place, or a person, made them feel.
Part memoir, part playbook, Every Touchpoint is the case for building meaning on purpose — in our businesses and in our lives — at the exact moment technology makes it easy to stop trying. Because every moment leaves a mark. And in the end, we become what we choose to weave into our days.
Inside the Book
Why we're built to be moved — and what a distracted, automated age quietly costs us.
How belonging actually gets built — in towns, homes, and the people who raise us.
Memory, presence, and the small moments that stay with us long after they pass.
The craft of the touchpoint — attention, ritual, and the architecture of "yes."
Staying unmistakably human as artificial intelligence reshapes every touchpoint.
Praise
"She reveals the intentional thinking behind Birkdale Village and shows how thoughtfully designed moments can turn a place into a community, a brand into an experience, and an ordinary interaction into a lasting memory."
"Elizabeth was an integral part of why Birkdale Village became such a community center. As a direct result of her work, we saw thousands of people for the annual tree lightings and Fourth of July events. Not everyone can pull off large-scale events — but Elizabeth is up to the task."
"I had the genuine pleasure of working with Elizabeth at Addison Whitney, a top-tier branding agency. She's one of the most talented brand strategists — and namers — I've worked with."
